While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :\nSQL Server Database Administration experience, automation (PowerShell) experience, and self-service (Jenkins/Ansible) desire and/or experience.\nPerformance tune complex queries and processes for both in-house and vendor applications.\nUnderstands database development best practices.\nAssess new SQL Server instances for an enterprise IT organization, maintaining inventory, and optimizing cost for required licenses.\nDesign and maintain IT infrastructure strategies to build database environments for both vendor and in-house supported applications, considering hardening, security, configuration, maintenance, and support.\nCreate and maintain documentation for audit, compliance, training, and other purposes.\nExplain complex database concepts to non-technical people in an easily understood way.\nMaintain the health of numerous SQL Server installations through monitoring and patching activities.\nAbility to upgrade SQL Server from any version to any other newer version using multiple techniques, understanding the benefits and drawbacks of each technique.\nPerforms database system management functions (e.g., software installs, version upgrades, configuration management) for DBMS, SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS installations.\nDocuments, defines, and develops database standards, procedures, and architecture.\nFacilitates project planning by establishing estimates, milestones and schedules.\nProvides team with technical training and/or mentoring, but listens and learns when others provide training and/or mentoring.\nAttend and participate in team discussions and meetings.\nReadiness and willingness to work and learn.\nParticipate in the on-call rotation, helping team-mates when needed.\nOther duties as required.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None.\nMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nMinimum of six (6) years of hands-on SQL Server database administration experience in an enterprise environment.\nDemonstrated experience with database automation, scripting, performance tuning, upgrades, and infrastructure management.\nStrong understanding of database architecture, security, high availability, disaster recovery, and operational best practices.\n#LI-CB2\nLead Technical Engineer - DBA SQL Server\nAt Fifth Third, we understand the importance of recognizing our employees for the role they play in improving the lives of our customers, communities and each other.
