Regulatory Counsel

Marsh’s Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs (LCPA) department promotes a culture in which ethical, lawful, and risk‑mindful behavior is foundational and consistently reinforced. We are looking for a Regulatory Counsel to join our US & Canada team. The ideal candidate should be a resident in one of the following Marsh offices: Boston, MA; New York, NY; Atlanta, GA; Urbandale, IA; Chicago, IL; Austin, TX; and other U.S. locations. What can you expect: Reporting to Marsh’s Chief Regulatory Counsel and working closely with the broader LCPA team, you will identify, analyze and advise on a range of regulatory compliance issues in the Marsh businesses. We will count on you to: Bring a strong background in insurance legal and regulatory matters and be a trusted advisor to senior business leaders and colleagues Be well‑versed in the federal and state legal and regulatory framework for professional service organizations, including commercial and employee benefits insurance brokers, consultants and actuaries Demonstrate sound judgment in providing advice and making decisions, even when difficult, and determine when to elevate issues Interact effectively with regulatory and/or enforcement staff at all levels and in a variety of contexts What you need to have: Juris Doctor degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant legal and regulatory experience Minimum 2+ years law firm experience advising professional services and insurance industry clients; relevant in‑house experience desirable What makes you stand out: Experience working collaboratively and effectively in cross‑functional teams or a matrix organization Ability to interact effectively with regulatory authorities in examinations, enforcement proceedings or investigations, and assist in internal investigations as needed Strong conviction for compliant and ethical behavior with personal integrity and accountability Proven ability to bring complex projects to successful and timely conclusions Clear and concise oral and written communication skills Top‑notch organization skills and ability to analyze and refine business processes and workflows Excellent responsiveness to team and colleagues Professional growth‑oriented and curious mindset, evidenced by a desire to learn and improve continuously Why join our team: Opportunities for professional development and career advancement within a global leader in the insurance industry Supportive and inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives and encourages innovation Contribution to a company dedicated to excellence, integrity, and delivering exceptional value to clients Marsh is committed to embracing a diverse, inclusive and flexible work environment. Marsh is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the benefit of working together in the office. All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office‑based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person. The applicable base salary range for this role is $147,200 to $294,200. The base pay will be determined based on experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
