Maintaining and providing Tier 3 support for the network infrastructure, including but not limited to switches, routers, firewalls, network appliances, and wireless APs.Duties and responsibilities include providing leadership to the network services staff, ensuring the IT needs of faculty, staff, and students are met. Completing and delivering regular audits and assessments and providing reports as required by regulatory agencies and management. Partnering with project managers on network solution analysis, business requirements, and risk assessments. Providing Tier 3 support to all network related service desk incidents. Sustaining technical expertise in all areas of LAN/WAN/WLAN capacity planning, network architecture design, unified communications, and engineering for a secure IT network. Maintaining and coordinating the installation and configuration of hardware and software elements within the network, unified communications, and security areas with the proper use of OSI & TCP/IP standards. Performing security hardening per baseline configurations and established best practices. Performing all other duties associated with the administration of the Network Services as required to insure service delivery. This position will report directly to the Data Center Manager.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience. 7-10 years related experience of network topologies (LAN/WAN/WLAN), routers, switches, firewalls, packet analysis, and other network based hardware and software, including applications and scripting. Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, IP routing, LAN and WAN protocols, campus and data center switching, and load balancing. Excellent communication skills, specifically the ability to transfer clear information to technical and non-technical staff. Excellent problem-solving skills and a high degree of self-motivation. Strong network documentation creation and management.
