We offer a supportive environment with opportunities for training and mentorship to grow your full stack, AI/ML, and software engineering skills.\n\nThis position is located in Lebanon, VA or Knoxville, TN\n\nYour future duties and responsibilities:\n\nDesign, develop, test, and deploy full stack applications across the front end, back end, and data layers.\nIntegrate AI and machine learning capabilities into applications, including LLM based features, generative AI, and intelligent automation.\nBuild and consume APIs and services to connect applications with AI models, data sources, and external systems.\nDevelop and optimize data pipelines and workflows that feed AI/ML features and application functionality.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into technical designs and working software.\nTroubleshoot, optimize, and monitor application performance, reliability, and data quality.\nParticipate in code reviews, document solutions, and follow engineering and responsible AI best practices.\n\nRequired qualifications to be successful in this role:\n\nBachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).\n16 years of experience in software development, full stack engineering, or a related field.\nHands on experience building full stack applications (front end and back end).\nExperience applying AI/ML or generative AI in applications (e.g., integrating LLMs, AI APIs, or ML models).\nProficiency in Python and SQL.\nExperience with a modern front end framework (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue) and back end/API development.\nFamiliarity with Git and CI/CD fundamentals.\nStrong problem solving and communication skills\n\nDesired qualifications/non essential skills required:\nExperience with AI/ML services from cloud providers (e.g., Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock/SageMaker).\nCloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).\nExperience with API integration (REST) and building data pipelines/data models.\nFamiliarity with prompt engineering, RAG (retrieval augmented generation), or vector databases.\nFamiliarity with governance, security, and responsible AI concepts in regulated environments.\nRelevant certifications are a plus.\n\nCGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
