All levels will be heavily involved with testing firearms on a regular basis. $16.15-23.27\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nTechnician Level I: Responsible for shooting, cleaning ranges, assisting engineers and technician team in shooting activities.\nTechnician Level II: Responsible for all Level I duties plus running tests with additional shooters from outside the department, prototyping parts in machine shop, rapid prototype (3D printers), preparing/running tests and evaluations, proficiency in more in-depth fire arms tests such as drop, hot cold, level, cycle testers, proof, accuracy, etc.\nTechnician Level III: Responsible for all Level I and II duties. In addition, responsible for placing work orders, purchase requisitions, and using SAP for scrapping guns. Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in either machine shop or 3D printers. Demonstrates a high competency level in setting up, running and completing tests.\nNOTE: This list presents only the principal duties of the position and is not intended to be comprehensive. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as dictated by the business needs and conditions.\nQualifications\nCandidates must have an associate degree, technical school certificate or 2 years minimum equivalent experience\nBackground in technical writing preferred\nExperience with instrumentation and sensors preferred\nMachine shop\nHighly organized and motivated, with strong ability to manage/monitor detail\nAbility to communicate effectively with user group\nDemonstrated proficiency with firearms and safe handling\nMachinist/Toolmaker is a plus\nLanguage Skills\nMust have working command of the English language\nMust be able to read, write and interpret the English language\nMust be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing (basic verbal instructions, simple written memos and instructions)\nComputer Skills\nSolid computer skills, with demonstrated proficiency in MS word, Excel and Outlook, Solidworks & Camworks\nTraining Requirements\nParticipate in and follow all company initiatives\nParticipate in continuous improvement projects (Kaizen events, 5S, etc.)\nPhysical Demands:\nMust be able to stand, sit, stoop, squat and walk\nMust be able to lift up to 30 pounds\nNOTE: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nWork Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:\nWithin the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing operations.
