This will primarily be engineering of crane runway systems but can also include generating the detailed design drawings when needed. It is also expected that as an engineering resource you will support the team as an expert for structural related topics that come up during the quoting and selling phase, or at site during installation and commissioning.\n\nYou will report to the Industrial Crane and Product Engineering Manager.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nPerform engineering calculations to compute the stresses developed in a crane runway structure. Knowledge of different static, dynamic and fatigue failure theories based on stress life approach is required to compute the allowable stresses according to applicable industry standards.\n\nEvaluate the static/dynamic strength and fatigue life of structural steel runway structures for the United States and Canada.\n\nUse RISA 3D, vendor software, KC Developed Programs and other in-house built analytical tools to perform and present structural calculations of runway structures conforming to the specifications of AISC/ASCE/CSA/CMAA. The ability to perform calculations is necessary to validate a calculation using a secondary/independent method of analysis.\n\nKnowledge of ASCE, IBC codes is a must, including seismic conditions.\n\nSupport customers and team members as an expert when troubleshooting issues that arise onsite during installation, commissioning or the warranty period of a project.\n\nOccasionally support sales and offer support during the quotation phase of complex projects to provide guidance on design options during the quotation stage.\n\nParticipate in continuous improvement efforts.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering\n\nHave an EIT certification, with plans or desire to obtain a PE license.\n\n3-5 years of related industry experience.\n\nKnowledge of ASCE, IBC codes and seismic conditions.\n\nKnowledge of AISC, CSA and CMAA is considered an asset.\n\nExperience with Microsoft Excel (can perform complex functions) and CAD programs.\n\nExperience with electric overhead traveling (EOT) cranes is an asset but not required.\n\nBenefits\n\nMedical Plan\n\nDental\n\nVision\n\n401k plan with a match from day one\n\nIdentity theft protection\n\nAccident insurance\n\nTravel insurance\n\nAnd so much more.\n\nVacation: 2 weeks of vacation per year (pro-rated for the first year depending on start date). 5-12 years of service, 3 weeks. 13+ years of service, 4 weeks.\n\nSick Leave: 5 days of Sick Leave per year.
