Manufacturing Engineer
Rugby Manufacturing in Rugby, ND is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an onsite role to lead and implement Continuous Improvement initiatives, Lean practices, and Kaizen events across multiple Value Streams. This role focuses on optimizing processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity goals, while identifying opportunities for automation using robotics and other technologies.The Manufacturing Engineer will develop cost-effective, efficient processes that meet or exceed quality standards, manage environmental processes and reporting, and foster a cohesive team aligned with the company’s goals and vision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, and the role involves both sitting and standing, as well as moving around the facility as needed.The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering or equivalent experience, strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement using tools such as 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead and implement Continuous Improvement, Lean, and Kaizen events to reach established goals and incentives in various Value Streams by following Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity guidelinesFind ways to automate processes using robotics and other sourcesManage/oversee environmental processes and reportingDevelop relationships with subordinates that will result in a cohesive team that understands the company’s direction, goals, and visionDevelop processes that will reduce costs and increase efficiencies as a manufacturing engineerDevelop processes that meet or exceed quality requirementsMust be proficient in Microsoft Office business applications such as; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.Required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facilityREQUIREMENTS:BS Engineering Degree or 6 years of Manufacturing Engineer experience or education in a manufacturing-related field, with emphasis on project managementClear and precise oral and written communication skills are requiredAbility to embrace continuous improvement to question and evaluate systems/procedures for the most efficient uses, better communications, and process improvements on an ongoing basisKnowledge of Continuous Improvement, 5S, Lean, Six-Sigma, and Kaizen planningABOUT US:Rugby a Subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation is located in Rugby, North Dakota.Federal Signal Corporation (NYSE: FSS) builds and delivers equipment of unmatched quality that moves material, cleans infrastructure, and protects the communities where we work and live.
