The hourly pay range for this position is $40.86 per hour - $45.67 per hour.\n\nWork Hours\nThe work hours for this position are Mon-Fri, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.\n\nAudio Visual Engineer\nAn AV Engineer working at the HPE’s corporate headquarters who is a multifaceted professional that blends technical expertise, creative insight, and operational skills to deliver reliable, high-quality audio-visual experiences across the facility.\n\nKEY PURPOSE\nThe AV Engineer will operate in diverse settings, including the corporate boardroom, conference centers, theaters, innovation centers, broadcast studios, and live event venues. The role demands adaptability, precision, and the ability to perform under high-stakes conditions.\n\nCORE RESPONSIBILITIES\nSystem Design and Planning: Translating client requirements into technical specifications, evaluating room acoustics, sight lines, and integration needs, and creating detailed system diagrams for signal flow, equipment placement, and network connectivity.\nEquipment Selection and Integration: Choosing compatible displays, microphones, speakers, cameras, processors, and control systems, ensuring smooth integration with video conferencing, room scheduling, and building automation platforms.\nInstallation and Configuration: Routing cables, managing signals, organizing racks, distributing power, programming control systems, tuning audio processors, and calibrating displays.\nTesting and Commissioning: Conducting comprehensive tests to validate system performance, audio intelligibility, and coverage, while troubleshooting under pressure.\nOperational Support: Providing day-to-day support for AV equipment, including VoIP, video conferencing, and live event operations.\nDocumentation: Producing user guides, configuration notes, troubleshooting reports and troubleshooting manuals to facilitate future maintenance.\n\nREQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERTISE\nAudio and Video Knowledge: Understanding sound systems, acoustic principles, video display technologies, and signal transmission.\nNetworking and Control Systems: Familiarity with AV-over-IP, networking protocols like Dante and AVB, and control system programming.\nTechnical Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly during live events or critical operations.\nSoftware Integration: Configuring video conferencing platforms, room scheduling systems, and building management software.\nCommunication and Coordination: Explaining complex systems to clients, coordinating with contractors, network teams, and construction crews.\n\nIDEAL CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE\nDemonstrates great interpersonal skills\nCan effectively communicate and relate to all levels within and outside the organization\nCreates and builds positive and productive relationships\nEducation: Associate or bachelor’s degree in AV technology, broadcast engineering, communications, or related fields.\nCertifications: CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), AVIXA, CEDIA, Dante Certification, Comp-TIA Network+ certification, and other manufacturer-specific training programs.\nExperience: Hands-on experience in multimedia, broadcasting, streaming, or live event production enhances career opportunities.\n\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\nServes as the eyes and ears of assigned floors/buildings to bring experience to life, enabling a holistic perspective of the whole workday through strong engagement\nObserves our customer’s company culture, employee behavior and the environment to identify experiential needs\nDrives positive experience outcomes for our customer through tailored events that help improve well-being, engagement and productivity\nRecognizes people’s efforts, breaking down barriers and inspiring others\nDevelop relationships with colleagues and proactively gather information on their needs to identify customer and ISS services that ensure total satisfaction\n\nPHYSICIAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT\nSitting at a computer for 50% of the time\nWalking/inspecting the site 50% of the time\nMust be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds\nMust be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods\n\nHSEQ Compliance: All employees must adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
