It does not have a remote or hybrid function.\nThe Systems Engineer is responsible for leading efforts for installing and maintaining systems software programs, assisting in the identification, evaluation, tailoring, and implementation of vendor-supplied systems software packages, and providing technical assistance and information to other systems programmers. The Systems Engineer will lead efforts to identify, and research hardware system components. The Systems Engineer will review performance and utilization data and prepare capacity planning reports as necessary to insure there is sufficient capacity to meet business needs. The Lead System Programmer will design and execute the BCBSMS Business Recovery Plan and annual tests.\nJob-Specific Requirements:\nAn Associate or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field OR the equivalent in related work experience is required.\nAt least 8 years of IBM mainframe O/S System Programming experience.\nSystems Programming experience with DB2 in a Mainframe environment preferred.\nExperience in Storage Administration.\nExperience in IOCP/HCD Administration.\nExperience in Security Administration preferred. (CA-Top Secret)\nMust have knowledge of and experience with IBM operating system problem determination and resolution support utility programs.\nShould have experience performing system and application problem determination and resolution.\nMust have experience using SMP/E to install operating systems and program products and required maintenance.\nMust be proficient in MS Office products.\nz/VM experience preferred.\nBlue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is an Equal opportunity Employer.
