The incumbent may review new tower designs, design tower foundations, and design basic-to-complex modifications to existing structures and foundations. The incumbent may also provide quality control review of engineering services performed by other engineers. This position also requires the performance of inspections related field work. The incumbent will perform climbed inspections of existing communications structures for the purpose of documenting current conditions through photographs, measurements, and notes.\nQualification Requirements\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or a related field required\nSuccessful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination preferred\n0-2 years of structural engineering experience\nTelecommunication experience is preferred\nProficiency with structural analysis software\nMust be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nDemonstrate focus on accuracy and high attention to detail\nStrong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment\nStrong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively\nStrong project management skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs as needed\nSelf-motivated, able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests as well as collaborating with others to utilize resources and knowledge in identifying high quality solutions\nAbility to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve business results\nStrong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors.\nProficient with computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel\nAdhere to all company and industry standard/regulations/safety practices (OSHA, COMTRAIN, etc.)\nEssential Functions\nReview requests for engineering services to determine that adequate information is provided to complete service.\nReview telecom structures and foundations for existing, proposed and reserved tenant configurations\nPerform analyses on projects of all levels of complexity using hand calculations, structural analysis software, and other accepted methods\nDesign modification for tower reinforcing, extensions and foundations\nReview Quality Assurance (QA) and final review on structural analysis reports\nGenerate required engineering reports\nAnswer structure-related inquiries from internal and external customers\nKeep abreast of new technical methods and development related to tower engineering\nComplete specialized engineering assignments requiring complex calculations\nPerform inspections, tower mappings and post construction inspections on telecommunications towers.\nProvide assistance on unusual problems\nEnsure accurate project status reporting to facilitate accurate customer and sales reporting\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nWork is split between being performed in climate-controlled internal office environment under normal office conditions and being performed externally, on-site, outdoors, with exposure to the elements of nature working under normal to extreme construction conditions. Employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear.
