Do you want to make a difference with your work? We are searching for a Field Service Technician – Commissioning for our Jenbacher team in the U.S. Join our team now in the Texas Region! This Field Service Technician – Commissioning will perform electrical and some mechanical field service work on Jenbacher Gas Engines, including but not limited to commissioning, troubleshooting, periodic maintenance, and minor overhaul. Jenbacher Gas Engines range in power from 0.25 to 9.5 MW and run on either natural gas or a variety of other gases (e.g., biogas, landfill gas, coal mine gas, sewage gas, combustible industrial waste gases). Essential Responsibilities: Execute service hands‑on activities in compliance with the maintenance protocol of the engine, for example: replace filters and other components, perform relevant mechanical and electrical inspections, measurements and other tasks. Carry out minor repairs on the engine in addition to the planned service. Perform troubleshooting activities with an analytical mindset and propose solutions aligned to Jenbacher. Understand electrical and mechanical failures of the engine/alternator, as well as electronic failures associated with control systems, and interpret historical data parameters of the engine. Manage and work with third‑party suppliers when needed. Work effectively with colleagues, subcontractors and customer personnel in a healthy environment, either as a team‑player or as a leader for each situation, with a team of technicians or independently. Provide information about planned services and progress updates of the maintenance. Own assigned sites and customers, proactively searching to maximize engine reliability. Create a technical report specifying the reason for the visit, the actions performed and the results, describing the use of materials and, if needed, recommending follow‑up actions. Maintain a basic set of tools, critical spare parts for covered engines, vehicle condition and availability, ensuring they are approved, clean and stored properly. Process timesheets, expense reports, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) forms and job reports in a timely manner. Comply with all EHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive work site. Qualifications/Requirements: Must have prior Field Technician experience such as automotive, power generation, heavy equipment or diesel engines. Ability to crouch, twist, bend, kneel and stoop for extended periods of time. Good electrical knowledge/electrician skills, such as wiring panels and alternators. Experience interpreting wiring diagrams, interphase and mechanical drawings. Programmable logic controller (PLC) knowledge. Troubleshooting skills with an analytical mindset. Legal permit to work in the United States. Ability to travel, including some overnight travel. Eligibility Requirements: Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time. Possess a valid driver's license. Ability and willingness to work remotely, as required. Legal authorization to work in the U.S is required. Desired Characteristics: Familiar with Jenbacher gas engines, natural gas engines and reciprocating engines. Experience in power generation applications. Ability to understand, implement and communicate technical procedures. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong customer focus. Able to effectively interact with customers at operational and management level. Good computer skills, office proficiency and logic controls software. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Excellent English level, capable of maintaining technical conversations and elaborating daily reports and emails with clarity.
