Job Title: Workers Compensation RepLocation: Wayne, MIJob Type: Full Time, ContractExpected hours per week: 40Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pmPay: $29.00/hrJob DescriptionAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claims Handler to serve as the primary claims contact at the plant. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, handling claims efficiently and accurately, and helping manage overall loss costs. This position requires strong technical Workers’ Compensation claims experience, particularly with lost time claims, as well as the ability to manage a full caseload of complex claims from investigation through resolution.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and process complex or technically difficult Workers’ Compensation claimsInvestigate claims and gather information to determine claim exposureManage a full caseload, including higher severity claimsHandle lost time Workers’ Compensation claims from start to finishDevelop and execute action plans to ensure timely and cost-effective claim resolutionSet, calculate, and maintain appropriate claim reservesCalculate and issue benefit payments, claim adjustments, and settlements within authority limitsPrepare and submit required state filings within statutory deadlinesCoordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation and litigation managementApply cost containment strategies and leverage vendor partnerships to control claim costsManage claim recoveries, including:SubrogationSecond Injury Fund excess recoveriesSocial Security and Medicare offsetsReport claims to the excess carrier as neededCommunicate claim activity and updates with claimants and plant/client stakeholdersMaintain accurate claim documentation and codingEscalate or refer claims to leadership when appropriateQualificationsRequired3–5 years of Workers’ Compensation claims handling experienceExperience handling Workers’ Compensation lost time claimsStrong knowledge of claims investigation, reserving, payments, and state filing requirementsAbility to manage a full caseload independentlyHigh School Diploma or GEDPreferredBachelor’s DegreeExperience handling more complex or high-severity claimsStrong customer service and communication skills in a plant-based environmentIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a skilled Workers’ Compensation claims professional who can balance technical claims handling with strong service and communication.
