This role will be responsible for leading the engineering team and driving operational excellence.\nThis position will ensure successful execution and delivery of products and according to project timelines. This position partners and supports other functional team in driving profitable growth; and the ability support our vision of providing best in industry products to our partners and the end user customers.\n\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\nAssess current vs. future capacity requirements and implement capacity improvements\nDevelop and implement new and existing equipment acceptance plans\nDevelop work methods and layouts\nDemonstrated use of capital project management skills to deliver safe, effective, low-cost capital solutions (Project planning, approval process, equipment specification, budget, Preventative Maintenance, acceptance plans, design review, safety assessments, capital request)\nSolid understanding of DMAIC tools; when to apply them, interpretation of results and application for effective solutions (Process map, process capability, C&E matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, control plan) Drive improvement activity.\nCollaborate with delivery partners to determine appropriate projects of focus, using available data from observation, queries, process data, and working partner input\nInterface with Advanced Design, Product Engineering, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability, and production builds of new product or product revisions.\nMentor developing Technicians and interns/Co-ops\nUtilize Value Stream Mapping tool to develop current state VSM's, interpret maps to identify improvement opportunities and create future state VSM's\nREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:\nDegree qualified in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering.\nPractical knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.\nKnowledge of and the ability to use CAD systems.\nKnowledge of SPC (eg Six Sigma) based techniques to drive continuous improvement projects.\nStrong team working capabilities.\nGood communication and inter-personal skills.\n4-year degree in Engineering or Technology\n5+ years engineering experience.\nPREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:\nWillingness to travel\nStrong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles\nStrong project management skills and working with a collaborative and cross functional team\nStrong knowledge of quality systems, SPC and process capability.
