Security Specialist (Locksmith)

About the Position We are seeking a seasoned Locksmith professional who will perform the day-to-day duties and provide normal services of a Locksmith to our government client. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of normal and high security lock mechanisms and perform a full range of work in developing plans to provide maximum security. The duties of this position will be performed on-site in the Washington, DC, National Capital Region. Responsibilities Provide technical support in maintaining existing databases used to manage and track work requirements Identify and recommend information technology and database tools for new activities or increase the effectiveness of existing Computerize Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Provide all necessary labor to perform the following locksmith duties: Key and key core combination records maintenance Maintenance and repair of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Identification of parts and materials that need to be ordered Maintenance of assigned inventory Calculation of pinning and key code management Pinning of cores Cutting and duplicating of keys Performance of lock maintenance Installation of lock cores and locksets Provide support required to inventory and maintain accurate key log and key codes Provide technical support in developing and maintaining facility maintenance repair schedules and performing routine inspections of work in progress until work is completed and complies with specifications Provide technical support in identifying and addressing short and long-range initiatives to support the building security measures Support staff and agency facility coordinators to clearly identify requirements for reimbursable repairs of locks and locking mechanisms and employee lockouts Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Relevant Locksmith Certification or Training 10+ years of experience in providing expert locksmith support Courteous, positive, and helpful demeanor Compensation: We offer a competitive compensation package, commensurate with experience, and the opportunity for professional growth within our organization.
