Job Summary: The Operations Manager oversees all aspects of our interior landscape business, including horticulture maintenance, inventory management, sales, plant procurement, account preparation, and customer relations. This role requires a strong leadership presence, organizational skills, and a passion for plant care. The position also involves physical tasks such as lifting, watering, cleaning, and packaging plants for distribution. Job Environment: This is a full-time manager position that involves working with plants, planters, and related supplies in an interior landscaping setting. Some weekend and after-hour duties may be required for shipment arrivals or large projects. Key Responsibilities: Love Plants – Must enjoy the beauty and benefits of indoor tropical plants. Interior Horticulture Accounts – Manage weekly watering schedules, pest control, and allocate resources for property upkeep. Account Plant Health Maintenance – Handle VIP clients and quickly resolve plant issues and customer concerns. Plant Preparation – Prepare plants for installations, rentals, and customer purchases, including cleaning, organizing orders, and packaging for delivery. Customer Sales – Handle walk-in customers, phone, and online sales with professionalism and care. Team Leadership – Foster a supportive business environment that encourages open communication within the interior landscape team. Goal Setting – Develop and implement goals and procedures for operational efficiency and company growth. Shipments – Load and unload large plant shipments and organize inventory appropriately. Weekly Communication – Provide proper communication to all team members and supervisory staff. Marketing Assistance – Work with the marketing team to provide weekly updates for social media and website promotions. Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage a team of 3-5 employees to maintain business operations and interior landscape accounts. Interview, hire, train, and assess employee performance. Plan, assign, and oversee work while addressing performance concerns. Independently maintain a professional work environment and serve as a visible representative of the company. Qualifications & Skills: Education – Degree in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field preferred but not required. Business Acumen – Strong understanding of business operations, product management, and service delivery. Supervisory Experience – Prior leadership experience preferred but not required. Language Skills – Proficiency in English required; Spanish is a plus. Computer Proficiency – Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Social Media Skills – Experience with Facebook, Instagram, and Google+ for marketing purposes. Physical Requirements – Ability to lift 50 lbs and move comfortably throughout the workday.
