This role is critical in ensuring that the masjid remains clean, organized, welcoming, and fully prepared for prayers, programs, educational activities, and community events.\r\nThe ideal candidate is hands-on, enjoys working behind the scenes to support the community, and takes pride in maintaining a professional and welcoming environment for worshippers and guests.\r\nPosition Summary The Operations Associate supports the day-to-day operational needs of the Ashburn Masjid by assisting with facility setup, event coordination, room preparation, vendor support, inventory management, and general building operations. This individual serves as an important resource in ensuring that the masjid is prepared to effectively serve the community throughout the week.\r\nKey Responsibilities Facility Setup & Event Support Set up prayer halls, classrooms, meeting rooms, and event spaces according to program requirements.\r\nArrange tables, chairs, podiums, audio-visual equipment, signage, and other event materials.\r\nAssist with setup and breakdown for Jumu'ah prayers, educational programs, community events, conferences, fundraisers, and special gatherings.\r\nEnsure facilities are reset and prepared for subsequent programs and activities.\r\nBuilding Operations Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to identify operational needs.\r\nAssist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the masjid facilities.\r\nReport maintenance issues, safety concerns, and facility repairs to management.\r\nMonitor and replenish supplies throughout the building.\r\nSupport facility opening and closing procedures as assigned.\r\nCommunity & Guest Services Welcome visitors, vendors, and community members as needed.\r\nAssist community members with basic facility-related questions.\r\nSupport crowd flow and event logistics during large gatherings and special events.\r\nMaintain a professional and courteous presence while representing ADAMS.\r\nInventory & Equipment Management Track and organize operational supplies and equipment.\r\nAssist with inventory counts and supply orders.\r\nMaintain storage areas in an organized and efficient manner.\r\nEnsure equipment is properly stored and functioning.\r\nEvent Coordination Support Work closely with program managers and department leaders to coordinate operational needs.\r\nAssist with room reservations, event logistics, and facility scheduling.\r\nCoordinate with vendors, contractors, and volunteers when necessary.\r\nSupport execution of Ramadan, Eid, youth programs, educational programs, and community-wide events.\r\nSafety & Compliance Follow ADAMS safety policies and procedures.\r\nAssist in maintaining a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors.\r\nRespond appropriately to operational emergencies and facility concerns.\r\nEnsure facilities remain compliant with organizational standards and expectations.\r\nQualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent.\r\nStrong customer service and interpersonal skills.\r\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\r\nStrong organizational and time-management abilities.\r\nAbility to lift and move tables, chairs, and event equipment.\r\nAbility to work evenings and weekends as needed.\r\nReliable transportation.\r\nMust be in good standing within the community.\r\nPreferred Experience working in facility operations, event coordination, hospitality, community centers, schools, houses of worship, or nonprofit organizations.\r\nExperience with event setup and logistics.\r\nBasic knowledge of audio-visual equipment.\r\nFamiliarity with mosque operations and Islamic community programming.\r\nPhysical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.\r\nAbility to lift and move up to 50 pounds.\r\nAbility to set up and break down event equipment and furniture.\r\nAbility to work indoors and outdoors during community events.\r\nWhy Join ADAMS?
