This\nposition will support the chipping operation via: unloading incoming roundwood, loading yard trucks for staging of\nwood, feeding the jack-ladder, rotating/moving inventory, grounds-keeping, assigned maintenance duties, and\nother responsibilities that are customary within a wood processing operation.\nROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nUnloading of incoming pulpwood and placing into inventory storage.\nOperation of tractor (commercial truck tractor) within yard setting for transporting wood.\nBackfilling of various other hourly jobs on the yard due to vacations and other time-off related situations.\nGeneral cleanup of yard and equipment including operation of skid-steer and front-end loader.\nGeneral maintenance to include oil changes, hydraulic hose replacement, and other routine duties;\nEmbracement and adherence to Pixelle Safety trainings, policies, and awareness to include participation\nin regular daily safety talks and weekly safety meetings.\n\nProper and safe use of hand and power tools like shovels, rakes, chainsaws, and grinders;\nNotification to Supervision or Leadership of any safety, maintenance, or operational issues in a timely\nmanner with the appropriate amount of urgency.\n\nTreats co-workers, customers, Management, suppliers, contractors, and other stake-holders with\nprofessionalism and respect.\nQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS\n\nAbility to communicate verbally and written for documentation of maintenance and safety training;\nReliability and punctuality a must;\nAbility to embrace and be receptive to change;\nMust be able to work in a fast paced team environment;\nAbility to lift 60 lbs at a variety of positions to waste level;\nAbility to work outside during all weather conditions;\nAbility to have depth perception and vision 180 degrees\nAbility to work from heights and climb vertical ladders of 20ft or more;\nSee SG- 820 Equipment Operator –Essential Functions and Required Physical Demands for further detail.\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment to include steel toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses,\nsafety vest, and dust masks.\n\nRecognition and acceptance that weather and business conditions play a critical role in scheduling and\nproduction, and that Company assets will be operated accordingly.\nPREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:\n\nHeavy equipment operator experience.\nAssociate/technical degree or other training, development, certification specific to equipment operation\nor skilled labor.\n\nWood processing, woodyard, timber harvesting, or forestry experience.\nSelf-motivated.
