Pharmacy Technician – Full-Time | Alaska (SEARHC)Location: Southeast Alaska Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday | Rotating Weekends Compensation: $27.81 – $38.62 per hour Bonus: $5,000 Sign-On + $10,000 Relocation (for qualified candidates)Position OverviewUnder the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician provides technical and customer support within the Department of Pharmacy Services. This role includes medication preparation, inventory management, and direct patient interaction while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesPharmacy Operations SupportAssist pharmacists in medication preparation and dispensingRetrieve, count, label, and package medications accuratelyOperate and maintain pharmacy automation systems (ScriptPro, Kirby Lester)Enter medication orders and perform pharmaceutical calculationsMaintain inventory, order supplies, and restock medicationsPrepare IV room, maintain hood cleanliness, and monitor equipment logsRefill Pyxis systems and manage controlled substance documentationHandle expired or recalled medications per protocolPatient & Customer SupportAnswer calls and assist with prescription refill requestsCommunicate with patients at the pharmacy windowDirect patient inquiries and escalate to pharmacist when requiredManage prescription pickup timelines and reverse billing when neededAdditional DutiesMaintain cleanliness and organization of pharmacy areasMonitor refrigerator temperaturesAssist in quality assurance and documentationSupport crash cart checks and replenishmentQualificationsEducation & LicensureAlaska Pharmacy Technician License (required at hire)National Pharmacy Technician Certification (within 1 year)Experience1–2 years of customer service or healthcare experience preferredKnowledge & SkillsUnderstanding of drug names, dosages, and pharmacy terminologyKnowledge of pharmacy systems and automated dispensing equipmentSterile compounding and hazardous drug handling skillsStrong math, communication, and multitasking abilitiesCertifications (Required)Clinical Competency (within 3 months)High-Risk Competency (within 3 months)Ongoing competency assessments as requiredBenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife Insurance & Disability CoveragePaid Time Off & Paid Parental LeaveRetirement PlanProfessional Development OpportunitiesAbout the OrganizationSEARHC is a non-profit healthcare consortium serving Southeast Alaska, committed to improving the health and well-being of the communities it serves while supporting employee growth and development.Additional InformationMust be willing to relocate to AlaskaWork location: OnsiteContactAshu TL Healthcare P: (609) 247-2301 E: Ashu@mtkhealthcare.com | www.mtkhealthcare.com
