This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and skills required of associates so classified.\nUSALCO Mentor Plant, LLC is a major unit within the manufacturing network of a leading provider of aluminum-based component products used in water treatment, pulp and paper manufacturing, the making of catalysts for oil refining, the housing market and other sectors. The right individual will have a can-do attitude, the ability to be part of a team while operating independently and consistently perform to very high standards.\nThe person in this role is responsible for loading manufactured chemical products in tanker trucks, railcars, totes and drums while assuring compliance is achieved in all company associated policies. The position requires a motivated, detail oriented, and results driven team player who:\n\nIncorporates safety and quality into every decision while performing day-to-day activities.\nMust be willing to work 3rd shift hours 11PM to 7AM Monday through Friday.\nEffectively communicates with Supervisor and peers.\nCan efficiently handle chemicals and operate equipment to safely manufacture quality products.\nWill actively seek out opportunities for process improvement and take full responsibility for collaborating with management and peers to implement approved changes in a timely manner.\nThe employee in this position will be a positive-natured, task-oriented individual with chemical manufacturing experience and significant mechanical aptitude. The Material Handler-Loader 3rd shift is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and ability to follow procedures. The person must possess excellent communication skills necessary to keep the Supervisor and peers informed of production status. This person must be personally and professionally motivated to work constructively with team members at all levels within the company to execute job responsibilities.\nKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS\nRequires planning skills to prioritize daily process operation\nMust be able to pay attention to detail\nKnowledge of chemical manufacturing and equipment\nMust be dependable, flexible and able to respond on short notice to satisfy the requirements of customers.\nRequires good interpersonal and communication skills.\nThe ability to clearly communicate with others, both verbally and in written form\nStrong Analytical and Mathematical aptitude\nTypical office organizational skills, with basic computer literacy in Microsoft Office.\nGeneral industrial maintenance/operations experience including pipe assembly, pump installation and repair, and general mechanical equipment knowledge.\nForklift experience and certification preferred. If not, must be able to complete certification through USALCO within 30 days.\n\nMust be able to learn liquid loading operations within 60 calendar days of being hired.\nEDUCATION:\nA High School Diploma or GED equivalent required\nEXPERIENCE:\nChemical or manufacturing experience, preferred\nRail car experience, preferred\nRail Track mobile experience.\nPrior Forklift driving experience\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nMust be able to wear a APR (SCBA respirator system), pass Spirometry test and comply to wear one, as required.\nRoutinely lift 35 to 50 lbs. throughout the shift\nRoutinely stand 80% of shift\nRoutinely climb stairs\nWork both indoors and outdoors during all seasons\nUSALCO is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
