The primary function of the Account Manager is to maintain and expand the company's business base by maximizing the profitability of assigned customer accounts and helping the company grow through new business solicitation. The Account Manager will use sales expertise and technical knowledge about the water treatment industry to recommend and apply basic water treatment applications and solutions, as well as communicate program results to company leadership and customers.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesManage existing customer base and grow territory with the help of the leadership teamInteract with site personnel in various departments to sell and support company's water treatment products and services for boiler, cooling, RO, process, and drinking water systems at numerous customer locations in a number of industriesWork onsite at customer locations to provide routine, day-to-day service to ensure the water treatment program operates within optimal rangesAssist with chemical feed and inventory managementParticipate in delivery, installation, commissioning and repair of systems at customer sitesManage and place orders, track inventory and usage of product at each customer site and serve as the general face of the company to assigned customer baseDeliver value to customer base by conducting routine service and business reviews, with clear and consistent communication as a key component of the company's cultureMaintain an organized approach to daily work, ensuring tasks are prioritized and completed efficientlyComplete detailed service reports and deliver them to customers within 24 hours of each service visitProject professional image of the company through a positive and helpful attitude and punctual and reliable attendance at all timesMaintain professional and technical knowledge in order to provide sound water treatment recommendations to customers; continuously strive for professional improvement by taking advantage of the company's continuous online training and mentorship opportunitiesBe a team player and mentor to the teamKeep vehicle in good operating condition and keep up with recommended maintenance as neededLocal/regional travel is expected and ongoing, including up to 10% overnight travelAdhere to and support all safety policies and guidelinesPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentGeneral knowledge of cooling tower systems, steam generation, and chilled/hot/process water closed-loop systemsPrior work experience in a technical sales roleStrong communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients and stakeholdersMechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficientlyAbility and willingness to be trained in and perform equipment installation, commissioning, and repair at customer sitesKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and ability to learn internal business systemsAbility to work independently and effectively plan, organize and execute activitiesAbility and willingness to physically provide service at customer facilities within a wide range of environments; must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.Valid driver's license and willingness to abide by company standards for operating a motor vehicleAbility to pass a respirator fit test and wear a half-or full-face respiratorAbility and willingness to be away from home for overnight travel – up to three (3) nights/monthPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry or other relevant field of studyPast work experience in technical sales and service in industrial water treatment or specialty chemicals industryFamiliarity with water treatment industry regulations and standardsAdvanced certifications or training in water treatment technologiesEEO StatementAn offer of employment at Apex Water and Process is subject to a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
