DescriptionThe Billing Support Specialist performs administrative and various general procedures associated with routine billing and support document processing. This position supports the Revenue Cycle department to ensure that documentation are routed properly to the correct physician and payer entity.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for printing chart notes and attaching the correct documentation to work comp claim formsResponsible for printing patient statements, mailing refund checks and budget letters and any similar items that need mailed.Responsible for hospital reports (trauma, med recs, and diagnostic imaging) Process all returned mail and distribute to appropriate internal personnel Submit all work comp claims and medical records within the Work Comp Clearing HouseProcess all new insurance request emails to gather all information to put into our systemComplete all business office report tasks as assignedResponsible for updating insurance eligibility and patient demographic info and other info as neededReviews and updates claims report to ensure that electronic claims go out as clean claims.Directly manages paper mailing, faxing, and printing items requests from Billers (folder on server).Reviewing and responding to correspondence from the collection agency including legal assignments and printing itemized statements.Print HCFA’s and itemized statements for medical recordsProcess insurance chart retrieval and audits, expense verification for HUD HousingMails claims and letters per Biller and Lead directionFaxes and mails inquiries, appeals, and corrected claims per Biller directionAdditional duties as assigned related to billing supportRequirementsHigh school diplomaOne year of medical office experience or related post high school education in clinical field Excellent communication skills including the ability to demonstrate strong customer service over the phone and in personMath skills to add, subtract, multiply and divideBasic computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, outlook, word, etc) Ability to enter data into systems with minimal errorsAbility to operate a scanner and name documents accuratelyMedical Terminology and Medical Forms experience preferred but not requiredAbility to prioritize and demonstrated ability to manage detailsAbility to maintain composure during times of change or job assignmentsWhy Choose Iowa Ortho?At Iowa Ortho, We Are Guided By Our IMPACT Values, And We Believe In Fostering a Culture That Prioritizes Both Professional Excellence And Compassionate CareInnovation that Drives Positive Outcomes (I)Motivation for Exceptional Care (M)Passion for Quality in Everything We Do (P)Accountability Through Open and Honest Communication (A)Commitment to Continued Growth (C)Teamwork (T)Competitive Benefit Package: Competitive pay, health, dental, paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k) with company match, profit-sharing, employee discounts and more.Center of Excellence: Physician-owned orthopedic clinic and surgery center dedicated to providing exceptional medical care to the people of central Iowa.
