Ensuring payroll is processed on time and accurately and as ensuring payroll deductions for benefits and taxes are managed accurately. This is a hands-on position, and you will collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization. This position reports to the Sr Human Resources Director.\nRequirements\nWhat you will do:\nProcess payroll and support payroll team to analyze, prepare, and input data to process weekly payrolls for union and non-union payroll for 1200 employees\nMaintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of weekly payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.\nEnsures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.\nPrepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.\nEnsures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.\nFacilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.\nIdentifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures for the best efficiency and automation.\nRespond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.\nPerforms research and analysis of payroll related tax issues as they arise. Ensures that companies are state tax compliant.\nResolve any error reports related to employee payroll deductions and retirement and benefit plan contributions. Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee contributions.\nFacilitates processing of year-end W-2 and other required employee forms.\nA partner with Human Resources to drive improvements within HRIS system.\nMaintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.\nSupervises a team of 1, trains new staff, oversees workflow of department, provides performance management.\nWork in Box Street in Brooklyn office 5 days, with opportunity to work 1 day from home.\nWhat you will bring:\nExtensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.\nExperience with union payrolls, including fringe benefits, prevailing wages, and certified payrolls.\nExperience with multi-state payroll\nKnowledge of automated Time & Attendance and geofencing\nSupervisory and leadership skills.\nKnowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nExcellent attention to detail and accuracy.\nProficiency in payroll and human resources software and tools.\nExperience in report generation.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.\n$75,000-$90,000\nA plus if you also bring:\nHas managed a payroll implementation.\nAdvanced knowledge of Vista payroll\nConstruction industry experience\nBS/BA degree\nCertified Payroll Professional (CPP).\nBenefits administration, file feed and website maintenance.\nLeadership experience\n$90,000-$100,000\nBenefits\nOutstanding Benefits:\nWe offer a competitive compensation package and exceptional benefits designed to enhance our employees’ lives and demonstrate our appreciation for their contributions.
