Our goal is to ramp up to 25% market share. This role is central to getting us there. We are committed to innovation, precision, grower success, and environmental responsibility. The Role We are hiring a Sales Manager to grow our presence across the Pacific Region. You will drive sales to a broad customer base and build our distributor network. This is a field-heavy role with frequent travel across your territory. Responsibilities Visit and sell to a wide range of customers: substrate companies, nurseries, large-scale commercial growers , and hobby/retail growers. Identify, recruit, and manage distributors to expand product reach. This is a core part of the role. Build strong relationships with growers, farm managers, agronomists, and buyers across crop types in soilless farming. Professional greenhouse growers into soilless farming of Soft fruits, Veggies and Licensed Medicinal Cannabis are our target end customers; candidates with an established network here would be highly preferred. Find new business by tracking potential customers and market activity in your region. Run field trials with coir substrate products on partner sites to prove performance and value. Monitor warehouse and inventory levels, and report stock regularly. Gather market intelligence on competitor products, pricing, and grower trends. Connect with agricultural retailers and distributors to grow product visibility. Prepare visit reports, demand forecasts, and sales progress reports for management. Represent Vaighai professionally at customer sites, distributor meetings, and trade shows. You will be reporting to the President of the company. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field. 15 years of field sales experience in agriculture or horticulture. Experience with growing media, fertilizers, seeds, or agrochemicals is a strong plus. Reliable car and valid driver's license. The role requires frequent field travel of up to 80% of your time. An existing network of contacts among growers, nurseries, or distributors in California and Oregon. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. Commercial and financial judgment: able to show ROI and build value propositions for growers. Self-directed and results-oriented, able to manage a territory independently.
