{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"1fd5adefb39db0816f5ef956","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/1fd5adefb39db0816f5ef956","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/1fd5adefb39db0816f5ef956","title":"EHS Manager","description":"Our client, a premier manufacturer and distributor of axles, suspension, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts and accessories, and towing components serving the commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets, has an opportunity for a Plant EHS Manager (Health, Safety and Environmental) at our manufacturing facility located in Fremont, Indiana .Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Plant HSE Manager provides leadership and coordination of activities related to the company's health, safety, and environmental program, including performance of the following essential duties:Developing and maintaining a variety of safety and environmental programs, policies and procedures that will ensure all associates are in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.Developing and implementing a program to reduce occupational injuries and illnesses, including area assessments, injury investigations and clear, measurable goals.Correcting working conditions, using knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, and safety standards, develops loss control programs, and devises methods to evaluate safety progresses.Assessing share, and leverage HSE best practices across sites.Establishing, implementing, and maintaining all Environmental and Safety Management systems in accordance with ISO 14001/ISO 18001, reporting to top management on performance, and recommend improvements.Serving as the interface between local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, corporate and any insurance carrier representatives in order to ensure plant compliance.Managing plant's environmental and OSHA regulatory reporting and record keeping requirements.Creating and managing budgets for HSE activities including consulting and testing, waste removal, safety equipment, safety recognition activities, etc.Leading investigations on environmental non-compliance, safety non-compliance, and root cause incidents and provide urgent response to operational issues.Leading implementations and use of team implemented problem solving.Conducting site audits and evaluate plant's compliance with environmental regulations and identify areas of improvements.Implementing environmental solutions and drive changes in manufacturing processes/systems that lead to reduction in environmental waste streams.Managing worker's compensation claims.Leading safety, HSE, and awareness program trainings.Performing other tasks, duties or special projects as directed.Health and Safety expertise:Behavior based safety, preferably DuPont STOPChemical hazard communicationContractor safetyConfined space entryElectrical safetyEmergency response planningErgonomicsFall protectionHazardous energy control - Lock Out/Tag OutHearing conservationIncident investigationIndoor air quality/industrial hygieneInjury reporting and analysisJob hazard analysis and risk assessmentsMachine guardingPersonal protective equipmentPowered industrial vehiclesSafety programs and awareness and OSHA complianceEnvironmental expertise:Sustainable processes/recyclingSolid and hazardous waste managementWastewater and storm water management, permitting, compliance, and controlsAir emission management, permitting, compliance, and controlsPollution prevention and resource conservationQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable degree is requiredMinimum 5 years of HSE experience in industry is requiredAn equivalent in combination of education and experience will be consideredWe care for our people.
