The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, proficiency with CAD software, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure designs meet exact expectations.\n\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nCollaborate directly with customers to gather and understand design requirements, specifications, and project objectives.\nDevelop detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and models using CAD software (e.g., Solid Edge.)\nProvide design recommendations and solutions to meet customer needs while ensuring manufacturability and cost-efficiency.\nReview and interpret customer sketches, blueprints, and technical documents to create accurate representations.\nMaintain regular communication with customers to address design changes, updates, or concerns.\nEnsure all designs comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and project specifications.\nCollaborate with internal teams, including engineering and production, to ensure seamless handoff of completed designs.\nDocument and organize all project-related files, including revisions and approvals.\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to design discrepancies or customer feedback.\n\nQualifications:\nAssociate's degree or certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.\n1+ years' experience as a CAD technician, preferably in a customer-faced role.\nProficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) is required.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy in design work.\nAbility to interpret and create technical drawings and specifications.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.\nKnowledge of relevant industry standards is a plus.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking 8-10 hours depending on the task.\nMust be able to lift, up to 50lbs., on occasion.\nThe use of approved Safety Glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots are required.\nGloves may be required depending on certain tasks assigned\n\nCompany Benefits:\nMedical Insurance\nDental Insurance\nVision Insurance\nCompany Paid Life Insurance\nCompany Paid Short-Term Disability\nCompany Paid Long-Term Disability\n401K Match\nWeekly Pay\nPaid Holidays\nEmployee Referral Program\n\nSchaefer's Electrical Enclosures is an equal opportunity employer.
