{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"1f58ff4da5de3440da3aa6b6","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/1f58ff4da5de3440da3aa6b6","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/1f58ff4da5de3440da3aa6b6","title":"Technician, Electronics","description":"Electronics TechnicianPosition: Electronics TechnicianExempt Status: Non-ExemptNumber of Days: 226Pay Grade: Tech PG-2Department: TechnologyReports To: Technology Project ManagerSupervises: NoneEducation: High School Diploma or GEDExperience: Background and job experience in repair and maintenance of electronics systems and equipmentPosition Function/Purpose: To work within the Technology Department to repair, maintain, upgrade and repair Electronics equipment, systems, and associated peripheral equipment.Major Responsibilities:Be able to analyze system problems to board level and effect repairsBe able to troubleshoot some equipment to component level as warranted by manufacturersProvide electronic systems and equipment testing, analysis and repair as directedWork with other departmental and campus staff to analyze electronic equipment problems and effect repairsCross train with other staff from Technology Department and assist in other areas when needed or as directedPhysically able install wiring/cable and electronic devices in a building structure as directed using ladders to access and work inside attics, tunnels and concealed spacesSetup electronic systems, audio/visual systems, and electronic equipment throughout the district as directedWork with district staff as an electronic resource person to aid in the use of various electronic equipmentFollow and enforce the rules and regulations of the Technology department and the Midland ISDPerform all duties and task assigned by the Technology Project Manager or Executive Director of TechnologyAttend service schools and seminars as directed to increase knowledge on specific school equipmentBe available on a flexible schedule and for some overtime and after hours work as directed and authorizedSpecific responsibilities:AMX systems: Set IP Address, knowledge of XMLS, command codes.Sound Systems: Amps, mixers, speakersShelter in Place/Lockdown drillsTelecenter 21 IntercomCable TV (coax) troubleshootingQualification Requirements:Minimum Certification/Education:High School Diploma or GEDValid Texas Driver's LicenseLife Health Safety Code (NFPA 72)Licensed Fire Alarm Technician (State of Texas)Special Knowledge/Skills:Basic training in Life Health Safety Systems and consumer electronics repairWorking knowledge of electronics schematics and test equipmentBackground and experience in troubleshooting of consumer electronics equipment, including TVs, VCRs, receivers/monitors, laser disc players, fire alarm panels & communications etc.Knowledge in troubleshooting and repair of audio-visual equipment including overhead projectors, phonographs, audio tape recorders, film projectors, etc.Possess the ability to program, operate, and repair digital/microprocessor control devices and various computer controlled systems i.e. communications, fire alarm, pa systems etc.Knowledge of and repair of computerized/electronic scoreboards and clocksProficient at electronic bench repairs as well as field troubleshooting and installations.
