POSITION Project/Product Manager I - Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Position Type: Temporary Schedule: M-F, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Hybrid) Assignment Length: Approximately 12-Months, possibly longer. DESCRIPTION Our client is seeking a Project/Product Manager I to support strategic procurement and category management for direct materials. This entry-level project management role offers hands-on experience in supply chain, sourcing, and procurement initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities:Support strategic procurement and sourcing initiatives for various material categories including poles, transformers, cables, substation equipment, MRO supplies, safety equipment, and chemicals.Assist in the planning, coordination, and tracking of project schedules and deliverables.Conduct competitive Request for Proposals (RFPs) to meet material requirements and achieve purchasing performance goals.Support supplier engagement and negotiations to obtain the best commercial terms and value.Perform data analysis in Excel and develop presentations in PowerPoint to support sourcing recommendations.Maintain project documentation and assist in reporting progress to stakeholders.Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers to achieve project objectives. REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).1-3 years of experience supporting projects, supply chain, procurement, or contract management.Strong attention to detail and ability to organize tasks effectively.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Solid written and verbal communication skills.Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a team environment. Desired Qualifications:Experience supporting sourcing strategies for direct materials, including vendor selection and competitive RFP execution.Familiarity with procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and contract terms.Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
