This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and plays a critical role in electrical, PLC, robotics, CNC, and automation troubleshooting. This is a floor-based, hands-on position. The individual is expected to actively support breakdown recovery, perform advanced troubleshooting, and contribute to continuous improvement of automation systems. This role is structured as contract labor and may support specific reliabiltly initiatives, equipment upgrades, or peak production demands.\n\nCore Responsibilities of the Controls Engineer/Maintenance Technician:\nControls & Automation Support\nTroubleshoot and repair Allen-Bradley PLC systems\nInterpret electrical schematics and ladder logic for rapid diagnostics\nSupport and modify HMI programs as needed\nTroubleshoot servo systems, motion control, and CNC controls\nSupport Fanuc robot troubleshooting and basic programming adjustments\nAssist with Safety PLC validation and machine safety systems\nTroubleshoot and support vision systems\n\nBreakdown Response & Uptime Support:\nRespond to equipment downtime events with urgency\nDiagnose root causes of electrical and controls failures\nSupport production during high-impact downtime situations\nCollaborate with maintenance technicians to restore equipment quickly and safely\n\nPreventative & Predictive Maintenance:\nExecute preventative maintenance tasks on electrical and automation systems\nSupport PM optimization efforts\nDocument findings and corrective actions in CMMS\nIdentify emerging failure trends and recommend corrective actions\n\nSafety & Compliance:\nFollow OSHA, NFPA, arc flash, and LOTO procedures\nEnsure safe troubleshooting practices\nAssist in maintaining machine safety system integrity\n\nRequired Qualifications of the Controls Engineer/Maintenance Technician:\n3-5+ years industrial controls or electrical troubleshooting experience\nStrong hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, ladder logic troubleshooting, HMIs, servo systems, motion control, CNC machinery, and industrial electrical systems\nExperience with Fanuc robots (troubleshooting required: programming preferred)\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics\nWorking knowledge of automation and machining environments\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability\n\nPreferred Qualifications of the Controls Engineer/Maintenance Technician:\nExperience integrating or modifying PLC programs\nSafety PLC troubleshooting experience\nExperience with vision systems\nCNC programming exposure\nCMMS experience\nMechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related degree/training (or equivalent experience)\n\nWork Structure of the Controls Engineer/Maintenance Technician:\nReports directly to Maintenance Manager\nContract labor position\nFloor-based role in a manufacturing environment\nMay require flexibility to support critical downtime or project needs\n\nA successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.\n\nBy applying for this role, you confirm that all information submitted is accurate and complete.
