This is a key leadership role for an accounting professional who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, strengthening controls, and making sure leadership has accurate financial information to make smart business decisions.\n\nReporting to the VP of Finance, the Controller will oversee the day-to-day accounting function, including the general ledger, financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, accounting controls, and accounting team development.\n\nIf you are a hands-on accounting leader who understands the details but can also see the bigger financial picture, we’d love to hear from you.\n\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn the general ledger and ensure accounting activity is accurate, complete, and properly classified.\nLead and improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.\nPrepare and/or oversee financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and supporting schedules.\nOwn the balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring accounts are properly supported and discrepancies are resolved.\nReview journal entries, accruals, deferrals, allocations, and other significant accounting transactions.\nDevelop, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nIdentify process gaps and implement improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.\nProvide oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management, and collections.\nMonitor AR aging and support efforts to improve cash flow and collections.\nHelp optimize our ERP and accounting systems, with NetSuite experience strongly preferred.\nIdentify opportunities to automate manual processes and eliminate unnecessary spreadsheets and duplicate work.\nEstablish standardized workflows and documentation across the accounting function.\nLead, coach, and develop accounting team members while establishing clear expectations and accountability.\nCoordinate with external CPAs, auditors, banks, insurance providers, and other financial partners.\nSupport tax preparation, audits, reviews, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and other financial initiatives.\nPartner with the VP of Finance and leadership team to identify trends, financial risks, and opportunities.\nRequirements:\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.\nAt least 5 years of progressive accounting experience.\nPrevious supervisory or accounting team leadership experience.\nStrong experience with general ledger accounting, month-end/year-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.\nDemonstrated experience developing and implementing accounting controls, policies, and procedures.\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accrual accounting.\nAdvanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with accounting and financial reporting systems.\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.\nAbility to lead a team, establish accountability, and maintain high standards for accuracy and timeliness.\nPreferred Qualifications\nNetSuite or comparable ERP experience strongly preferred.\nExperience with an ERP implementation, upgrade, or system conversion.\nExperience working in a growing or multi-entity organization.\nExperience in manufacturing, construction, home improvement, or another operationally complex industry.\nExperience with job costing, inventory, revenue recognition, or project-based accounting.\nCPA designation or progress toward CPA is a plus.\nWhy Join WinChoice?\n\nThis is an opportunity to step into a high-impact accounting leadership position where you can help shape the systems, processes, and standards that support a growing organization.\n\nWe are looking for someone who wants more than simply maintaining the books.
