The Dixon Group is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Dixon Sanitary Division! In this role you will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in an industrial plant. Develop, evaluate, and improve production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements. What You'll Do:Develop the most efficient processes to complete manufacturing buildsDesign fixtures and gages to help manufacture productsSpecify and help procure new equipment to continually improve efficiency (automation)Help develop product designs to ensure they are optimal for manufacturabilityTravel to suppliers, as necessary, to help improve their processes to provide us with cost-saving and/or quality improvementsSupport Quality Assurance with Fixture & Gage design and project related tasksDevelop and follow through on Continual Improvement projects What We're Looking For:High School Diploma or equivalent required5 to 10 years of manufacturing or mechanical engineering experienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relatedStrong understanding of mechanical drawingsDemonstrated understanding of engineering principles and mechanical aptitudeAbility to work with minimal supervisionExcellent math skillsSolidWorks (or other 3D CAD) experienceProficient in Word, ExcelStrong communication skills- answering technical questions.Ability to generate ideas for process improvements and lean manufacturing.
