The EHS Coordinator is a key resource to the facility with a focus on employee safety. This person reports directly to the EHS Manager and has the primary responsibility of supporting all health and safety improvement efforts at the CertainTeed, Jonesburg - Missouri facility.This function utilizes the existing procedures and their acquired knowledge to provide EHS technical support to the Plant through coordination of EHS activities and programs. This role supports the implementation, execution, and maintenance of the environmental, health, and safety systems for the plant. As the EHS Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with Plant Management, Production, Maintenance, and Engineering team members and focus on various projects and initiatives within these teams.Specific Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited ToComplete daily EHS assignments that are assigned by the EHS Manager/SupervisorMonitor employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure compliance with all site safety policiesAudit job safety analysis, risk assessments, and work permits on a routine basis and help to create these as neededSupport safety meetings with the production teamsAssist the EHS Manager/Supervisor to help with the activities of the Safety Committee Participate as requested in the Production Meeting held with the Site Leadership Team and Site SupervisionHelp to identify and track TF events. Assist the EHS Manager/Supervisor in the mitigation plans for any action items that develop from the TF eventsUse internal tracking systems to report leading and lagging safety indicatorsAssist with data management of information captured in the internal tracking systemsWork with operational leaders to enforce safety standardsBe an active member of the Emergency Response Team and other teams as assigned that need safety support or oversightHelp to capture, track, and, where needed, lead efforts to correct deficiencies through site audits and inspectionsProvide follow-up communications to employees who are involved or reported the EHS concern, prompting the corrective actionsSupport Ops team members to ensure all contractors/vendors have been registered in our online approval system (Safety Plus) and, when needed, are working under the required site work permitsConduct Safety New Hire Orientation Conduct EHS training programs to meet regulatory and SG plant needs, track training progressParticipate and, when needed, lead incident investigations, development of corrective actions, and communicate lessons learned in a timely, effective, and thorough manner.Participate and help to manage site EHS projects to include gathering information to support justification, working with internal and third-party resources, and obtaining quotes Partner with plant leadership and operators, working to ensure that the plant is free from risks to the environment, health, and safetyOn occasion, be able to assist with environmental tasks as neededIS THIS JOB FOR YOU?Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in EHS (preferred not required)Experience: 2-4 years’ previous experience within the general industry health & safety fieldMust have a basic knowledge of OSHA standards and regulatory compliance requirements with completion of OSHA 30 Hour CourseMust have a basic knowledge of Lean Thinking, 5-S and Six SigmaMust be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingMust have adequate skills in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and ExcelMust have the ability to work on various tasks/projects at the same timeMust lead by example, maintaining integrity of the Safety/EHS Management SystemsMust be able to work 8 to 12 hours on their feet, lift 30 lbs. on a repeated basis and climb safety ladders when necessary to complete various tasks within the position.a Little More About UsThrough the responsible development of innovative and sustainable building products, CertainTeed, headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania, has helped shape the building products industry for more than 110 years.
