We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds.\n\nResponsibilities\nSUMMARY : The purpose of this position is to ensure proper specifications are met and documented on all incoming ingredients and packaging materials and outgoing finished products. The technicians also communicate all findings to the necessary departments. All of Michael Foods, the customers and the public will benefit from the work done by technicians who ensure safe, compliant quality products.\n\nThis position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.\n\nACTIVITIES :\n\nCommunicates and coordinates with Production to keep processing up to date as issues are found.\n\nAdheres to safe work practices, following GMP’s, maintaining sanitary conditions and ensuring that product quality is maintained. Reports to management if any conditions or practices may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.\n\nVerify PC’s and CCP’s are complete and signed off.\n\nResponsible for following the shift’s checklist for the area.\n\nAccountable for filling out inventory adjustment sheets when finished product is removed from inventory.\n\nAccountable for filling out hold tags when product is to be put on hold.\n\nResponsible for weekly environmental swabs and air plates.\n\nEnsures employees are following proper safety policies/procedures.\n\nPerforms and records assigned QAT tasks as identified in Red Zone.\n\nWorks with micro, process/chemistry lab and QA supervisor to get product samples to the labs in a timely manner.\n\nAdheres to all safety policies and procedures.\n\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nEDUCATION:\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.\n\nEXPERIENCE:\nLANGUAGE SKILLS:\nAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.\n\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS:\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.\n\nREASONING ABILITY:\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
