By displacing fossil fuels for the production of key chemicals, Dioxycle has the potential to ultimately reduce over 800 million tons of CO2 per year , representing over 2% of the world\\'s emissions.\nAt the core of our process is a novel \"carbon electrolyzer\", a machine capable of using just electricity and water to convert carbon emissions back into valuable everyday essential chemicals. Our team is innovating across chemical, mechanical and system engineering to turn carbon transformation into an economically feasible, industrial reality through this completely novel technological approach. Having completed our industrial-scale electrolyzer prototype, we are now working with our chemical and downstream offtakers towards First-of-a-kind plant deployment and subsequent commercial roll-out.\nWe are supported by world-class funders including Bill-Gates-founded Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Lowercarbon Capital and Gigascale Capital and have raised $40M to date. We operate from two centers in Paris and California (so whether you are passionate about outdoors or good food/art scenes, we have a location for you to join!)\nYour Mission Dioxycle is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Process Development Engineer to join our team at a pivotal phase of transition from R&D to industrial piloting and early commercial deployment.\nWe are looking for a process engineer with real industrial-scale experience (rather than a pure R&D or academic background) who can bring a critical, hands-on, plant-minded perspective to our process design and de-risk our path to commercial scale. You will work in close partnership with our principal process engineer, splitting your time roughly 70/30 between process simulation/design and hands-on experimental work, with the experimental share increasing to roughly 50% of your time during key testing campaigns. Your responsibilities will center around:\nSimulate, model, and optimize process flowsheets (notably using Aspen Plus) to support process design and de-risking decisions\nBenchmark and screen candidate technologies, and engage directly with technology suppliers to identify and validate the right solutions for our process\nScope, follow up, and steer external technical and experimental studies run by suppliers and engineering partners\nContribute hands-on to pilot/skid-scale experimental campaigns (e.g. purification skids, evaporators), particularly during peak testing periods\nWork in close, day-to-day partnership with our principal process engineer lead to translate research-stage thinking into industrially robust process designs\nBring an industrial/operations mindset to challenge and stress-test process choices against real plant constraints\nWe seek a Process Engineer who is dedicated to advancing our mission and possesses the skills outlined below. Candidates with a minimum of three years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply (experience levels up to 10-12 years will also be considered for a more senior scope). We are seeking a candidate who is based in, or open to relocating to, Paris, France.\nAbilities and expertise we are looking for Master\\'s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field\n3+ years of process engineering experience gained in an industrial setting (large industrial group strongly preferred) Profiles coming from pure academic R&D, technology licensors, or EPC contractors are not the primary fit for this role\nProfiles with R&D experience embedded within a large industrial group, particularly in a technical support-to-operations capacity, are a strong fit\n\nStrong command of Aspen Plus for process simulation and optimization\nDomain expertise in either of the following is a strong plus Liquid organic chemicals (alcohols, carboxylic acids) with experience in purification and separation processes, notably distillation columns\nSyngas handling, treatment including PSA, cryogenic separation, drying.\nOre refining/processing (lithium, nickel, bauxite) with experience extracting metal oxides from mined rock\n\nHands-on comfort with experimental and pilot/skid-scale work\nStrong fluency in English, with the ability to work closely and effectively in a tight-knit technical bin\\'ome\nGood project management skills: planning, coordination, supplier follow-up, and milestone tracking\nA genuine appetite for moving from a paper-based idea to real, industrial-scale execution\nMindset we are looking for Exemplary work ethic and self-driven attitude: you get things done fast and to a high standard and you don't drop the ball\n\"Street-smart\": you don't take no for an answer and will figure out a way to solve anything with the means available\nCommitment to the mission and ambition and to creating a kind, high-performance and fun atmosphere at work (100% on-site role)\nPassion for innovation and problem-solving attitude\nDedication to investing time and effort for the betterment of the team\nGoing the extra 20% that makes a good deliverable into an outstanding deliverable\nHumble, low-ego and curious\nWhat we have to offer Unique journey: We are an early-stage company with a world-class team and a flat structure.\nImpact: We are building a product that will reshape century-old industrial processes to build a better, more sustainable and resilient world\nPeople-first: We love our people.
