Bring your intelligence and creative spirit and join us at MPD!\n\nWe are looking to hire a Network Modeling and Simulation Engineer\nTo provide support in the Network/Systems Department (NSD) to lead and perform trade studies, analyses, and simulations of space network architectures. Your role will provide critical insight and feedback to government customers to optimize the overall communications performance of terrestrial, satellite, launch vehicle, and ground-based systems.\n\nThe selected candidate will be required to work full time on-site at the Aerospace El Segundo, CA facility.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n\nLead or participate in multidisciplinary engineering teams in the development and analysis of future network architectures and requirements.\n\nAnalyze and simulate complex network architectures and protocols.\n\nEngage in systems architecture definition, development, analysis, modeling & simulation, and prototype development/validation.\n\nInnovate through specialized technical studies and internal research and development projects to develop the next generation of Space and Ground network concepts, architectures, and technologies.\n\nCoordinate tasks in technical meetings for SSC, NRO, and Civil & Commercial customers working with a diverse team comprising military officers and Government civilians, prime contractors, SEI contractors and other FFRDCs.\n\nEvaluate and develop multiple access communications or engineering technologies.\n\nSupport development and sustainment of core network simulation, emulation, and modeling capabilities.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.\n\nMinimum of 6 years of experience in data analysis, OSI and TCP/IP models, and in network design, analysis, and modeling & simulation.\n\nDeep knowledge of routing and switching protocols.\n\nExperience in software development in Python or C/C++.\n\nAbility to present results effectively in briefings and technical reports.\n\nWilling to travel as needed (up to 10%).\n\nThis position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government.
