RN - Emergency Department, PRN Days
Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department on a PRN day shift basis. This role offers the opportunity to provide critical nursing care in a fast-paced, supportive environment with a focus on patient-centered outcomes.Job OverviewUnder the general supervision of the Emergency Department Director, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care using sound judgment and nursing principles. You will administer medications and treatments, assist providers during examinations, and ensure accurate documentation of patient care. This position requires adherence to state nursing regulations and facility protocols.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques and patient needs.Provide timely and accurate information to physicians and healthcare team members to support continuity of care.Assess, document, and plan patient care using the nursing process.Prepare equipment and assist providers with patient treatment and examinations.Follow physician orders promptly and accurately.Maintain detailed and precise documentation of patient care, including vital signs, medications, and intake/output.Develop individualized care plans within 24 hours of patient admission.Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in the use of supplies and pharmacy items.Ensure patient safety and legal compliance by obtaining appropriate consents and respecting privacy standards.Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to foster teamwork and professional growth.Engage in special projects and support departmental goals.Education and ExperienceGraduation from an accredited nursing program is required.Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.At least one year of experience as an RN in an emergency room setting is preferred. Licenses and CertificationsCurrent and unrestricted state nursing license.Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications are required.TNCC certification must be obtained within six months of hire. Skills and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles.Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles to patient care.Respect for patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.Work Environment and ScheduleThis position involves 12-hour shifts within a 40-hour workweek on a contract basis.
