A Packaging Operator must possess the desire and ability to work in a fast and safe manner in the Filling and Packaging area of the Bulk Milk Processing Plant. The ideal candidate for this role excels in working in a fast-paced, rigorous environment and is a team player. This position will advance your skills and promote a self-activating work group. This position is responsible for maintaining the continuous operation of a filling and packaging line of the facility while following all Food Safety and Quality requirements as outlined in Darigold’s Good Manufacturing Policy, the position's Standard Operating Procedures, and facility employee training sessions. The position is also required to report any concerns that may impact Food Safety or Quality to their immediate supervisor, the plant Quality Manager, or the Plant Manager.\nNight Shift: 3pm-1:00am\n\nWhat You Will Do:\nSafe, efficient operation of the UP Filling machines\nInspecting and monitoring the filling process ensuring proper machine operation\nMaintaining and monitoring weights and measures; ensuring proper code markings and labeling\nMaintaining and monitoring any required inventory necessary for the filling process\nSupporting as needed palletizing of milk product; Hand stacking of product as required\nPrinting and validating batch packets; operates scan gun and verifies that data and documentation are accurately reconciled, balanced, printed, collected, and passed on through appropriate channels\nWorks in close collaboration with the entire line of workers\nWorking in conjunction with the Supervisor and Filler Operator on shift will cross-train on all of the line operations\nOperates the Box Former as may be needed\nPulls packaging for production\nSafely operates a forklift or pallet jack; loads product for transfer to the Warehouse\nPerforms CIP sanitation of the work area; maintains organization of the work area; and performs ongoing cleaning tasks in compliance with good manufacturing and warehouse practices\nPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.\nWhat You Will Bring:\nMust be able to lift and/or carry up to 55 pounds frequently, between floor level and chest level\nMust be able to continuously stand, walk, flex, stretch, twist, and move throughout the area for 8 to 12 hours\nMust be able to climb stairs and traverse potentially uneven wet flooring\nAbility to organize and analyze process problems\nMust be able to train others in inventory and labeling processes\nStrong oral and written communication skills; must be able to read and follow directions\nMust be able to master and safely operate filling equipment on the line as well as pallet jack and forklift\nAbility to learn and master scanning, batch ticketing, and basic computer use\nMust have basic arithmetic skills; able to read and understand instructions\nAble to write legibly\nMust be able to monitor and inspect inventory and reconcile receipt/distribution of product\nMust be able to follow instructions with minimal supervision\nKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes\n\nOur Commitment to Diversity\nAchieving our vision to Lead Dairy Forward requires cultivating and supporting a team with varying backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
