Department: Construction/CEIEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Asheboro, NCReporting To: Nathan GarciaDescriptionDRMP's Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Division is HIRING, and we're searching for experienced Transportation Technicians to join our group.If you've made a career in CEI and have experience in either roadway or bridge inspection - we'd love to hear from you.The Transportation Technician is responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests. Hands-on Training and Mentoring are provided to assist with career development.Your Primary Responsibilities Will IncludeA daily documentation of the contractor's work efforts.Project field book preparation and documentation.Density logbook preparation and documentation.Material sampling and testing.Assisting with the preparation of the Final Estimates package.Measures distances to verify the accuracy of construction activity/layout dimensions.Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activity/installations.Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed, and materials used conform to specifications.Obtains and prepares material samples for laboratory testing.Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and accepts installation.Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities.What You'll NeedHigh school graduate with four (4+) years' experience in construction inspection, one (1+) year of which shall have been in roadway or bridge construction inspection.AAS Civil Engineering Technology plus two (2+) years' experience; with at least one (1+) year roadway construction inspection experience.Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course, and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects).Position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of overtime (Hourly).Ability to work in a team environment.Full Complement of CertificationsQMS RoadwayConcreteABC SamplingBorrow Pit SamplingQMS DensityABC DensityConventional DensityEC Level 2DOT Intermediate MOTDRMP OffersExcellent compensation packageOutstanding holiday and paid-time-off programs401(k) Plan and MatchCareer Path Development Program (Management & Technical Career Tracks)Mentorship ProgramTuition ReimbursementParental LeaveCompetitive health and dental insurance premiumsVariety of voluntary benefit optionsShort-Term Disability/Long-Term DisabilityCompany-furnished life insuranceEmployee Assistant Program (EAP)Flexible Spending Accountand MoreDRMP is a Drug and Alcohol Free workplace, an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and E-Verify employer.
