Employee will perform diagnostics on computer systems, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical/electrical component replacement. Employee must have the ability to explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to non-mechanical individuals, which may include customers and fellow associates.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform difficult repairs and work specified repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or OEM standardsDiagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, air conditioning, etc. to specificationExplain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to management and customersDetermine needed repair activity and perform repairPerform standard part replacement and capable to complete actions by following the action SMPLead small groups of other technicians when required without pay adjustmentContinuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technologyInspect and test new vehicles and record findings so that necessary repairs can be madePerform work in a manufacturing facility, which may include working on the assembly lineOther duties as assigned by managementQualifications/Requirements:Possess current driver's license with clean driving recordAbility to pass a criminal background check and drug screenWork assigned schedule which may include overtime, multiple shifts, weekends and holidaysArrive to work on-timeHave strong verbal and written communication skillsValid US driver's licenseExperience with OEM is preferredBasic computer skillsBe team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer serviceHave working knowledge of shop equipment such as diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.Environmental Requirements:Work in environments with exposure extreme temperature changes and loud noiseWork outside, when required, in all weather conditionsMust be able to lift, push, pull, move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) poundsMust be able to work at heights up to 20-25 feetMust be able to stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during shifts of 8+ hoursExperience/Education:Must possess high school diploma or equivalentMust have a minimum of five (5) years of automotive repair experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
