{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"1e01a409882ad5f8d8bc3ed5","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/1e01a409882ad5f8d8bc3ed5","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/1e01a409882ad5f8d8bc3ed5","title":"Onshore Pipefitter","description":"Onshore Pipe Fitter\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nThe Fitter is responsible for cutting and fitting pipe or structural materials for welders.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n(This is a representative list of the duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive.)\nAlign parts using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars and hammers\nMark reference points onto floor or face block and transpose them to workpiece\nGive directions to welder to build up low spots or short pieces with weld\nStraighten warped or bent parts using sledge, hand torch, straightening press or bulldozer\nRemove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders and cutting torch\nExamine blueprints and plan sequence of operation, applying knowledge of geometry, effects of heat, weld shrinkage, machining and metal thickness\nTack weld fitted parts together\nPosition or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, bolt straps or bolt parts in position for welding\nAssemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings and related equipment according to specifications by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering and threading joints\nPut all information on the pipe before cutting and transfer all item numbers onto cut sheet and carry over item numbers to drop pipe\nEnsure all numbers are clear and point to the right material when fabricating spool sheets\nCheck measurements to assure they match with drawing and obtain approval from quality control department\nInspect, examine and test installed systems and pipe lines using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, observation or other methods\nPlan pipe system layout, installation or repair according to specifications\nRead and understand blue prints and ISO’s\nObey and follow all safety rules and policies\nWear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE)\nPerform all other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS\n· High School diploma or equivalent education\n· 5+ years of Pipe fitting experience in an industrial setting\n· Basic written and verbal skills\n· Must have the ability to perform work accurately\n· Must be reliable and have good time management skills\n· For new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen\n· For new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy Services\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\n· Stand – Frequently\n· Sit – Occasionally\n· Use Hands – Constantly\n· Climb – Occasionally\n· Kneel – Frequently\n· Lift/Carry over – Frequently (up to 50 lbs.)\n· Vision – Required (Must be able to pass vision exam per appropriate medical requirements)\n· Hearing – Required (Must be able to pass an audio test per OSHA standards)\nWORKING CONDITIONS\n· Wet or Humid (non-weather) – Occasionally\n· Working near moving mechanical parts – Frequently\n· Working in high places – Occasionally\n· Exposed to fumes or airborne particles – Constantly\n· Exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals – Occasionally\n· Outdoor weather conditions – Constantly\n· Risk of electric shock – Frequently\n· Work with explosives – None\n· Risk of radiation – Occasionally\n· Noise Level – Very Loud\nPerformance Energy Services is an equal opportunity employer.
