Working alongside project managers, this role contributes to engineering design, construction documents, permitting, and client coordination.\nThis is a growth-oriented position for an early-to-mid-career engineer pursuing professional licensure who wants increasing responsibility within an employee-owned firm.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerform site design tasks including grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility layout.\nPrepare construction plans, specifications, and supporting calculations.\nAssist with permitting and agency submittals at the local, county, and state level.\nCoordinate with clients, contractors, and review agencies under the direction of the project manager.\nSupport project scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.\nReview and coordinate work prepared by CAD technicians and designers.\nConduct site visits and assist with construction-phase services as needed.\nContribute to proposal preparation and scope development.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.\nEngineer Intern (EI) / Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, with a commitment to pursuing PE licensure.\nTwo to five years of experience in civil site or land development design.\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.\nUnderstanding of stormwater management and site development design principles.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience with private development projects in the Indiana market.\nFamiliarity with local permitting and agency review processes.\nProgress toward Indiana PE licensure.\nABOUT BANNING ENGINEERING\nBanning Engineering is a civil engineering and land surveying firm based in Plainfield, Indiana, with an additional office in Pendleton.
