Facilities Technician (Multiple Shifts)

1 position available per shift1st shift @ 6AM - 2:30PM2nd shift @ 2PM-10:30PM3rd Shift @ 10PM - 6:30AMThe Facility Technician primary responsibility will be maintaining, repairing, operating facilities infrastructure including HVC, Ammonia System, Water Heaters. Compressors, Wastewater System, and soft water systems and electrical generators in support of manufacturing operations. You will need to troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and restore operations with minimum downtime.You will also support and maintain manufacturing, production and utility equipment to meet product quality and production schedule requirements. This position is key to ongoing preventive maintenance and management of all infrastructure systems and building equipment including steam boilers, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Position participates in rotating "On Call" duties for after-hours facilities emergencies and refrigeration operating temperature alarms to ensure product quality.The facility technician is also a position with leadership responsibilities. Their judgment helps maintain the daily activities and guides others in the department. They assist management with specific tasks including plant security and key control. Their experience allows them to handle assignments with little supervision and assist others to perform their assignments as well.Required Duties And ResponsibilitiesAmmonia RefrigerationPerform daily rounds on compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related systemsTroubleshoot and repair industrial ammonia refrigeration systemsSupport PSM/RMP compliance (OSHA/EPA)Respond to ammonia alarms and assist with leak response protocolsWastewater TreatmentOperate and maintain wastewater treatment systemsConduct water chemistry testing and manage chemical dosingTroubleshoot system issues and ensure environmental complianceHVAC & UtilitiesMaintain and repair HVAC systems (ventilation, A/C, make-up air units)Operate hot water systems, and compressed air systemsEnsure all utility systems operate within safe and efficient parametersFacility MaintenancePerform general facility repairs (mechanical, structural, minor electrical)Maintain dock plates, fast track doors, dock equipment, and building systemsExecute preventive maintenance to minimize downtimeLow Voltage & ControlsInstall and troubleshoot sensors, wiring, and control panelsWork with three-phase electrical systems and control voltages (480VAC–24VDC)Assist with PLC-controlled systems and basic controls troubleshootingCO₂ & Nitrogen SystemsOperate and maintain CO₂ and nitrogen supply systemsTroubleshoot regulators, piping, and gas-related equipmentEnsure compliance with compressed gas safety standardsWhat We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, utilities, or facilitiesExperience working with industrial electrical systems (480VAC–24VDC)Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manualsExperience using a CMMS (SAP, RedZone, or similar)Ability to work in extreme environments (cold storage, boiler rooms)Preferred QualificationsExperience in food manufacturing or regulated environmentsAmmonia refrigeration experience (RETA CARO/CIRO preferred)EPA 608 Universal CertificationExperience with CO₂ and nitrogen systemsBackground in wastewater treatment operationsExperience with low voltage installation and controls troubleshootingWork EnvironmentExposure to hot, cold, and wet environmentsWork at heights and in confined spaces as neededOn-call or off-shift support may be requiredEEOWe are committed to an inclusive workplace where diversity in all its forms is championed.
