Working as part of the interdisciplinary group (IDG), you will help create space for meaning, comfort, and dignity for individuals of all beliefs, traditions, and life experiences.OverviewThe Chaplain provides spiritual support to patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary team in accordance with the hospice philosophy and Medicare Conditions of Participation. This role addresses spiritual, religious, and existential concerns through assessment, counseling, and individualized spiritual care planning.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct spiritual assessments and develop individualized spiritual care plans for patients and familiesProvide ongoing spiritual and emotional support aligned with patient and family beliefs, traditions, and preferencesSupport patients and families of all faiths, belief systems, and cultural backgrounds, including those who are non-religious or secularOffer prayer, sacraments, rituals, or spiritual rites as appropriate and in accordance with patient and family wishesParticipate in interdisciplinary group meetings and contribute to holistic care planningDocument spiritual care services and updates to plans of care in the EMRAssist with advance care planning, legacy work, or life reviewCoordinate with community clergy or spiritual leaders as requestedSupport bereavement care before and after death, including memorial services and grief follow-upEducate team members on cultural, spiritual, and ethical considerations impacting patient careMaintain confidentiality and professional boundariesPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsMaster's degree in divinity, theology, pastoral counseling, or a related field from an accredited institutionMinimum of one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education required; two units or board certification preferredOrdination, commissioning, or endorsement by a recognized faith groupExperience providing spiritual care in hospice or healthcare settings preferredUnderstanding of grief and bereavement processesKnowledge of Medicare hospice regulations and Conditions of ParticipationValid driver's license and reliable transportationStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyProficiency with EMR systems and virtual communication toolsThe compensation range for this position is shown below and reflects the expected pay range for the role. Arc Hospice & Palliative Care is committed to transparency and equity in all compensation practices.Final pay is determined based on factors such as experience, licensure, location, and business needs at the time of hire.
