As a fully integrated contract manufacturing business, all process steps are completed on site in AST’s 100,000 sq. ft. facility.\nAST is located in Oxnard California 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 2 miles from the Pacific Ocean and California’s Pacific Coast Highway.\nPosition Summary:\nThe Setup Operator Machinist is responsible for operating large CNC lathes and VTLs in order to produce aerospace grade product.\nRequired Skills/Experience:\nMust be able to set up and operate CNC lathes with minimal supervision.\nMust be familiar with machining fundamentals, tool wear, and tool usage.\nAbility to make offsets and necessary modifications and adjustments to ensure parts conform to specifications and requirements.\nRead and understand standard and geometric tolerances on blueprints, work instructions and operation sheets.\nAccurately verify and document dimensions using standard measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, etc.\nExercises and maintains good housekeeping and safety principles in the completion of work assignments.\nAt AST, we are committed to providing the ideal climate for personal and professional development for all of our team members.
