You will serve as the primary relationship builder, bridging the gap between technical TMC engineering teams and public/private stakeholders to improve regional mobility, safety, and infrastructure efficiency.A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:Build and maintain relationships with state DOTs, transit agencies, municipal partners, and other key stakeholders to support transportation operations and growth initiativesIdentify new business opportunities and lead strategic pursuits for Traffic Management Center (TMC) operations, modernization programs, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projectsDevelop and present compelling proposals, funding applications, and client presentations that demonstrate technical expertise and operational valueServe as a trusted advisor to agency leadership, first responders, traffic engineers, and community partners to support successful program outcomesFoster regional collaboration by coordinating incident management efforts, data-sharing partnerships, and cross-jurisdictional transportation initiativesOversee daily TMC program delivery, including traffic monitoring, incident response operations, traveler information services, and technology deploymentsTrack budgets, resources, performance metrics, and service levels while providing regular updates and recommendations to client leadershipREQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Business Management, or a related field. Education may substituted for 15+ years in the TMC and Incident Management Leadership RoleREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:8+ years of experience in traffic operations, ITS engineering, or TMC program managementProficient in Transportation Management Center software, contract administration, and public-sector budgetingStrong understanding of Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), and video distribution frameworksIDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:Proven track record of winning public sector infrastructure or transportation technology contractsExceptional communication skills with the ability to navigate complex political and bureaucratic agency environmentsAn existing professional network within state DOTs, metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), or municipal traffic departments is highly desirableLEVEL UP WITH LJAAt LJA, we’re 100% employee-owned.
