All members collaborate and communicateregularly to support student success and to assist with course planning and preparation. Facultyin the Political Science Division report to the Division Chair.Professor ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver high-quality courses for all student cohorts across online, hybrid, andin-person modalities to achieve course outcomes and ensure alignment with state,institutional, and division standards.Maintain an active instructional presence by initiating meaningful interaction withstudents in all course modalities, facilitating discussions, delivering direct instructionand clarification, and providing timely, substantive feedback directly and through theLMS and other approved instructional technologies.Respond to student inquiries in a timely and supportive manner, provide guidance thatpromotes persistence and course completion, and refer students needing additionalsupport to the appropriate college resources.Maintain a minimum of five posted office hours per week and provide additionalavailability by appointment as appropriate to student needs.Submit syllabi, grades, and attendance accurately and on time; maintain all requiredcourse documentation.Participate in student learning assessment and institutional effectiveness to support aculture of continuously seeking improvement, including alignment with institutionalgoals.Engage in ongoing professional growth by staying current in discipline and pedagogy,and completing all elements of the Faculty Evaluation Plan, including setting goals toimprove course design, delivery, and student learning.Assist with advising students and support registration, orientation, and career pathwaysas needed.Support the mission of the College through committee service and participation infaculty and division meetings and commencement activities.Represent the College positively in the classroom, on campus, and in the community.Collaborate professionally with the Division Chair, faculty, staff, and administrators onsch duling, curriculum planning, and continuous improvement.Follow college policies, communicate through appropriate reporting lines, and completeadditional duties as assigned.Required Minimum Qualifications And ExperienceMaster's degree in teaching discipline or Masters degree in a related discipline and aminimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching disciplineEffective verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated teaching abilityEnthusiasm for teaching and student successOngoing participation in professional development or membership in relevantacademic/professional organizationsPreferred QualificationsMasters degree in the teaching disciplineExperience teaching in multiple modalities (in-person, hybrid, online)Experience with assessment and evidence-based teaching practicesPosting And Application DetailsThis position is based at the Abilene campus of Cisco College but may require teaching at theCisco campus, dual credit partner high school locations, and online. This is a full-time, 9-monthcontract position.Cisco College offers a generous benefit package, including comprehensive medical, dental, andvision insurance.
