Veterinarian TechnicianBC US LLC was established in 2012 near Immokalee Florida, approximately 40 miles due east of Naples Florida. The site serves as a breeding, holding, and quarantine facility for Mauritian origin macaques. Together with our high-level of care and enrichment programs, we ensure that the company oversees a program of the highest standards providing non-human primate models for life-saving biomedical research programs to pharmaceutical companies, CRO's as well as Universities.We are currently looking for a Veterinarian Technician to come join our fast growing team in Immokalee, FL!Duties & Responsibilities:Provide compassionate care for the animals while ensuring compliance with relevant regulationsConduct clinical observations for hospital and colony animals, to include assessment of outdoor group housed animalsAssist veterinarians in all aspects of clinical care to include administering treatments, radiology, ultrasounds, surgery, and necropsyAssess, record and report animal healthCollect samples and prepare samples for shipmentAssist Behavior Team with observations and assessments, maintain enrichment plans to ensure behavioral health of animalsMaintain all hospital areas in a neat and sanitary condition, updating required logsMaintains inventory - restocking treatment/procedure rooms as needed.Other duties may be assignedRequired SkillsMust be able to read, write, and interpret documents including task descriptions, standard operating procedures, and other instructions.Bilingual for Spanish is preferred, but not requiredAbility to coordinate multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong analytical and organizational skillsEducation And/Or Experience:2 years of non-human primate experience is preferred, but not required.Certified Veterinary Technician, or AALAS certification at the LAT level preferredProficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.Proficient with animal management systems.BC US values diversity in its workforce.
