You will work with avionics, tactical environments, and various interfaces such as audio, visual, motion, and I/O systems, along with Instructor Operator Stations (IOS). You will primarily engage in software development using C/C++, FORTRAN, and other languages within Linux and Windows operating systems.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nDevelop complex software applications to support various projects.\r\nCollaborate with lead software engineers to execute all project phases, including requirements analysis, design, development, and testing.\r\nCreate software interfaces for external systems or simulate aircraft systems with minimal guidance.\r\nSupport software development activities as directed by software leads.\r\nDesign software architectures for system components, including interfaces and models of aircraft components.\r\nPrepare software documentation and inputs for design reviews.\r\nPresent software designs to customers during reviews.\r\nCollaborate with teams and mentor junior engineers.\r\nEssential Skills\r\nBachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.\r\n5+ years of experience in software engineering.\r\nProficiency in C++ and Visual Studio IDE.\r\nExperience with GCC compilers and Makefiles.\r\nStrong skills in Linux and familiarity with Windows.\r\nUnderstanding of software engineering concepts and processes.\r\nAdditional Skills & Qualifications\r\nKnowledge of object-oriented design concepts.\r\nExperience with flight simulation and real-time programming.\r\nFamiliarity with military aircraft systems and avionics.\r\nUnderstanding of networking.\r\nSecret clearance preferred; sponsorship available if necessary.\r\nWork Environment\r\nThis role requires you to work onsite five days a week in Chantilly due to the hardware located in the office. Expect approximately 30% travel, including both CONUS and OCONUS destinations, such as Orlando, Hawaii, Japan, and the UK.
