The position is responsible for completing all or portions(subassemblies) of design / layout as concepted in a cost effective and timely manner. This includes creating layout / assembly, detail- drawings and creating Bills of Materials (BOMS) using Solid Works.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nModel machine components using SolidWorks®.\nLayout and detail parts.\nSelect appropriate material and hardware for all components.\nReview concepts for potential interference areas and potential cost saving by concept simplification.\nInterface with supervisory, Sr. design, and other personnel as well as electrical engineering and proposal / sales department effectively.\nWork with shop personnel in the resolution of design / build discrepancies, and manufacturing problems.\nOther related duties as assigned.\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nHigh proficiency in SolidWorks®.\nPosition requires applied knowledge of machine design areas, including:\nFabrication and structural steel shapes\nWelding symbols.\nLiner motion IE. ball screws, rack and pinions, pneumatic cylinders.\nGear reduction for servo motors\nPrior machine, fixturing & parts handling experience preferred.\nGood problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.\nAbility to communicate effectively and clearly through e-mail, drawing presentations.\nMust be self-motivated and a great team worker.\nEducation and Experience:\nAssociates in design with SolidWorks® certificate will be considered.\nBachelors in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.\nSolidWorks® experience required.\nProficiency in Windows environment; proficient in Microsoft applications.\nKnowledge of weldment, sheet metal and drawing is a plus.\nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nBenefits:\nAt PTR-Precision Technologies, Inc., we offer our employee a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.\n· Medical, Dental and Vison Insurance Plans\n· Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)\n· Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)\n· Employer paid short-term and long-term disability\n· Generous 401(k) plan with company 6% match\n· 12 paid holidays\n· Paid vacation time\n· Paid Personal Time Off (PTO)\n· Tuition reimbursement\n· Clean temperature-controlled manufacturing facility\nAbout PTR\nPTR-Precision Technologies, Inc. is a member of the Global Beam Technologies group, the largest manufacturer of electron beam welding and drilling systems in the world.
