This highly specialized position requires exceptional driving skill, communication skills, attention to detail in loading/unloading, and a strong commitment to compliance with all federal and state regulations. The driver will operate a Western Star Sleeper Cab. This role requires extended periods away from home./ppWhat youll be doing:/pulliSafely and efficiently operate a Western Star sleeper cab with a specialized car-hauling trailer./liliSpend extended periods on the road and in-cab lodging./liliOperate loads of up to nine vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions on an assigned route./liliLoad/unload and secure vehicles in accordance with applicable standards./liliComplete and accurately document thorough pre and post trip inspections of the Western Star; timely submit accurate inspection reports./liliPerform simple maintenance required in connection with pre and post trip inspections such as topping off fluids (e.g. engine oil, coolant), and tire inflation./liliKeep and maintain accurate driver logs./liliAdhere to applicable safety and traffic procedures, laws, and regulations./liliTimely and effectively report all unsafe vehicle or road conditions./liliPerform tasks independently with minimal supervision./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpWhat the job requires:/pulliThree-month contracted commitment/lili21+ years of age./lili1+ year of driving experience at Carvana/liliOTR driving experience preferred/liliExperience and comfortability driving in all weather conditions and urban environments/lili6+ consecutive months experience within the last three years driving a vehicle transporter or tractor trailer, or equivalent Military experience./liliClass A CDL driving experience, with 1+ employer or owner operator./liliHave and maintain a valid Class A CDL, DOT Medical Card, and clean driving record (No DUIs, No more than two at fault accidents, and No more than 2 moving violations, in the last 3 years)./liliAbility to pass controlled substance tests given in accordance with FMCSA Section 382.301(a) (Pre-Employment), FMCSA Section 382.303 (Post-Accident), and FMCSA Sections 382.303-311. (Random/Reasonable Suspicion)./liliAbility to safely and professionally operate Carvana equipment (including manual transmission vehicles) according to established Carvana, DOT, and FMCSA rules, regulations and policies, anywhere in the United States./liliAbility to maintain consistent and reliable attendance, and work shifts of up to 16 hours in a single day./liliAbility to work outdoors regularly for extended periods of time in all weather conditions./liliAbility and comfort to be around fumes or odors that are from vehicles under maintenance./liliAbility to work overtime, nights, weekends and holidays as needed./liliAbility to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional, courteous manner./liliAbility to safely perform physical requirements of the position, including: frequently move in and out of vehicles; frequently stand, bend, twist, stoop, and squat; regularly walk 75; regularly climb ladders and ramps of up to 10; regularly work up to 10 above ground; continually sit for 10 hours; regularly push, pull and lift 20 lbs, and periodically lift up to 60 lbs./li/ulpThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship./ppCarvana is an equal employment opportunity employer.
