We're a small, partner-led team in Boulder working with owners, architects and contractors on residential remodels, additions, custom and developer homes and condos, plus commercial and public works projects. We focus on efficient, economical residential design and green technology. Our motto says it well: \"Engineering Quality, Sustainable Structures that Endure.\"\n\n*The role* We're looking for a Project Engineer with a few years of experience who wants real ownership of their work. You'll work side by side with our partners, follow projects from first calcs through construction, and have a clear path to grow: Project Engineer → Project Manager (PE) → Senior Manager and beyond.\n\nYou'll see a real mix of work, from remodels and additions to new custom homes and public works, and learn how to design it efficiently and economically. This is an on-site role in our Boulder office, so you'll learn right alongside our partners every day.\n\n*What you'll do*\n\n* Structural design and calculations for residential and light commercial projects in wood, steel, concrete and masonry\n* Produce and check drawings in AutoCAD and Revit\n* Visit job sites for structural observations\n* Coordinate with architects and contractors, and respond to RFIs\n* Take on more project management as you grow\n\n*What you'll bring*\n\n* About 2–4 years of structural or construction engineering experience\n* Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET/EAC-accredited preferred)\n* AutoCAD proficiency\n* Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship, now or in the future\n* You live in, or are willing to relocate to, the Boulder/Denver area (relocation at your own expense)\n\n*Big pluses:* residential experience and wood/timber design *Also nice to have:* Revit and EIT certification\n\n*Pay and benefits*\n\n* $70,000–$85,000 per year, depending on experience\n* Employer-paid health and dental insurance for the employee, 401(k) with company match, and PE exam support\n* Apply by: October 31, 2026\n\n*How to apply* Apply here on Indeed, or email your resume to Billy Schoelman, PE, at billy@gfestructural.com.
